Fleet Maintenance Supervisor Supervisor Nieto was appointed to his position with the North County Fire Protection District in 2004. His scope of responsibility is to insure the fire districts fleet of fire/emergency apparatus are “ready to respond at a moments notice.” This includes fire engines, ambulances and staff cars. He also provides training such as fire pumps, air brakes, etc. to fire department personnel. Background: North County Fire's hand picked Certified Fire Service Mechanics are always on the cutting edge of fire apparatus technology. The team offers repairs and mutual aid to surrounding fire departments that do not have a fleet maintenance center. Jerry Austerman came to NCFPD in 2002 with 25 years plus in fire apparatus repair.
