FIREFIGHTER OF THE YEAR:

The Fallbrook Firefighters Association honors those individuals whose outstanding achievements in the emergency services and the community provides examples of exemplary performance and who individual who exemplifies the character, commitment and compassion that are hallmarks of the firefighter profession. This is a peer award based on membership vote.

FF/PM ANTHONY FIERI:

FF/PM Fieri has been actively involved in numerous District and Association activities and has been recognized by his peers for:

His continuing leadership as the Coordinator of the   Explorer Post 2740;
His devotion as District’s Coordinator of the Burn   Institute Boot Drive;
His Community Volunteerism;
His Organizational Dedication.

EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR:
The Employee of the Year award is given to one employee each year. The award is for meritorious conduct in the performance of assigned duties for outstanding services and/or achievements.

FIRE PREVENTION SPECIALIST —
GREG HOLDRIDGE:

Not only was FPS Holdridge selected by his Division for recognition for his efforts on behalf of the Fire Prevention Bureau, he is as also selected as the employee of the year. FPS Holdridge resolves many issues that might otherwise be handled by the on-duty crews or other staff, such as delivering and installing sand bags to a resident concerned with flooding; and resolving a nuisance smoke detector for an elderly blind resident (removing the faulty one, buying another and installing for her).

He is respected for professionalism in dealing with difficult customer issues, such as weed abatement and neighbor issues, he also works with staff to assist with whatever task presented to him.

In addition, FPS Holdridge receives all the Bureau’s complaints and works toward resolution with the individual and community.

FPS Holdridge was instrumental in the Roth House Project.

VALOR AWARDS:

CAPTAIN STEVE CATE (Retired):

For his unselfish act of heroism during an off-duty ocean rescue and the arduous attempt performing life saving measures to the victim.

ENGINEER/PM ROB DECAMP:

For his commendable courage and going beyond the call of duty to assist a trapped victim in a vehicle accident involving a burning vehicle, with an extended period of entrapment.

MERITORIOUS SERVICE AWARDS:

These awards are given to employees who distinguish themselves by outstanding achievement, contribution or service to the District or who, accomplished assigned duties in a manner that clearly exceeded service expected of individuals with similar responsibilities.

The following four awards are recommended for acknowledgement by the program manager of the specific area:

OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION TO THE TRAINING DIVISION:

The Auto Extrication Team for their dedication to the development and delivery of contemporary auto extrication techniques.

For his outstanding customer service, going above and beyond to locate the family members of a patient during the emergency event:

John received this award for his outstanding devotion in supporting the “Code 3 for a Cure,” cross-country Firefighter Cancer Awareness Program.

COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM:
For ongoing disaster preparedness efforts, hosting the Fallbrook Earthquake Seminar and other various local community events designed to educate residents about their role in disaster preparedness. Visit “North County CERT”.
